Every student from a non-English speaking nation who wishes to pursue an education abroad in an English-speaking nation such as the USA, UK, or others must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Over 6000 institutions and universities in 110 countries recognize the test, which is designed to evaluate basic English proficiency. This is more than three times as many as any other English language test. More than 1275 test locations throughout 180 countries offer the exam. The validity of a TOEFL score is two years.
